The mandate of the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is to regulate Zimbabwe’s Energy Sector.
This solar product registration system has been developed to support the implementation of quality standards for solar products in Zimbabwe. It was developed with support from the COMESA RIFF project.
The registration system enables companies in Zimbabwe that are importing and selling solar products to apply for the registration of their products. For a product to be registered by ZERA it needs to conform to the quality standards adopted for that product. Applicants are required to provide valid documentation that demonstrates that the product complies with its associated standard(s).
The following categories of solar products are covered by this registration system: pico-solar products, solar home system kits, solar modules, batteries for solar systems, charge controllers, inverters, solar thermal systems, and components of solar thermal systems.
Registered products will be included in a list of registered solar products, which can be accessed using the link above. In addition, a product registration certificate will be provided for each product registered by ZERA.
